Grades

Constantly improved alloys for knife steel dynamically increase the knife's service life: up to 60 times when compared to a so-called Swedish-steel knife!

1) SS (Swedish-steel) knives
2) HSS super-speed steel knives with a tungsten content of 18 % are the most frequently used guillotine knives worldwide showing four times the standard service life. They are very good value for money and perfectly cut the most common materials.
3) CARBIDE-TIPPED knives

CARBIDE-TIPPED knives due to their ultra fine grain quality reach service lives up to 10 times longer than usual. They are perfectly suited for the most different cutting materials.

LONGLIFE knives are an enhancement of the above described carbide-tipped knives. However, they are made of a super fine tungsten carbide. They allow to obtain 20 times the normal service life.

GENESIS knives are characterized by an increase of 40 times the normal service life. The ultra fine grain carbide used for manufacturing this knife is suitable for cutting everything from paper and cardboard to very hard materials.

VITECH knives are considered as a benchmark. They are exclusively produced by Hagedorn and obtain unsurpassed cutting results. VITECH knives are the benchmark for success and performance. VITECH knives provide maximum cutting output and reach completely new dimensions. In practice, the cutting performance is increased to 600 % compared to a good-quality carbide-tipped knife. In addition to being very hard and durable, the VITECH knife provides a noticeable reduction in both nicks and chips in the cutting blade. Hagedorn produces and supplies cutting tools for all common cutting methods in the printing industry. The latest product range of circular knives includes various qualities of steel for top, bottom and perforation knives, folding and cutting blades, as well as crush cutters. Knives According to Drawing
Cutting tools, such as guillotine blades, circular knives and cutting dies are manufactured according to the customer's requirements. It only takes a sketch, a drawing or a specimen for us to manufacture machine blades in the most versatile materials. Hagedorn grinding technology is well equipped for sharpening customized cutting tools. Hagedorn have even developed customized grinding machines for this purpose.

Circular Upper Knives / Circular Lower Knives
In order to ensure a smooth operation of circular upper knives and lower knives, they are manufactured absolutely to the knives' truth of rotation and flatness. Specially developed abrasives allow to obtain very low surface finishes for blades of upper knives, which also helps to prevent the production of dust. Circular upper knives and circular lower knives are available in all common qualities, from tool steel through to carbide metal.
The special grinding processes are tailored to the material being cut and can be carried out in the following ways:

Guillotine shears work with permanently installed blades. State-of-the-art grinding techniques help to reduce the cutting forces. Sheeter knives made of tool steel, high-speed steel (HSS), tungsten carbide and PM steel can be manufactured up to lengths of 4,500 mm.

State-of-the-art grinding technology helps to obtain maximum flatness, straightness and parallelism of the knife.
